Welcome to St Lawrence's church in Over Peover

Welcome to St Lawrence's church in the Parish of Over Peover.

We welcome people of faith who are seeking to grow in their understanding of God and living the Christian life, people drawn to church seeking a sense of belonging and acceptance, and those who simply sense something is missing from their lives and are searching for meaning and purpose. We have a range of activities and services to help all people in their spiritual journey, to find friends and have fun on the way.

St Lawrence's, Over Peover is linked with St Oswald's, Lower Peover. Both churches serve rural village communities within leafy Cheshire. Both churches are deeply historic, very beautiful and are in the most wonderful settings. St Lawrence’s is adjacent to Peover Hall, it has one of the most beautiful graveyards imaginable, a historic building with a wonderful acoustic, and many treasures. St Oswald’s is at the end of “The Cobbles” (which is, as it says, a traditional cobbled road), it is a wonderful, much-loved, black and white timber framed building, set is a beautiful churchyard, close to the Bells of Peover Pub, and enjoying the spectacular back-drop of open fields and the Peover Eye river.

This website contains information about the history of the St Lawrence's church, the worship, the services of baptism (Christening) and marriage, (how to them plan and what they mean), and the planning of a funeral service. There is also a church diary of services and events, and articles on Christian faith and living the Christian life. St Lawrence's church is very much part of the local communities and so the website gives details of fund raising and social events, as well as details of any major projects the churches are undertaking.
